The Valley is the gallery for thoughts and the megaphone for arts dialogue
in December 2004. Our city is full of opinions, challenges, ? ghtin? words and introspective investigation. Our program is re?ective of these attributes.

Words, images and installations will shout out to the public on behalf of their creators and their critics. Non-traditional spaces like the streets and dirty laneways become the proverbial white walls for our artists, while the white walls receive some heavy treatment from arts that?s usual left on
the street.

If you have been feeling that Brisbane has become repetitive or un-representational of the true diversity of our emerging practitioners then this program is going to be 10 days of eye-opening and inspiring experiences, a con?rmation that Brisbane has a unique artistic language and a passion for pushing the boundaries Street art in Brisbane, the proppaNOW Collective, video art, artist-run initiatives, up-and-coming, Artscience Interface and the ?eshy subject matter of body, image and place.... this is what to expect from the SOOB Visual Arts panels for 2004.

It?s all about providing a platform for artists and artworkers to voice their agendas and provide information to a wider audience on collectives, artist run projects and contemporary art practices. Thanks: To everyone who submitted proposals, and all of the businesses and venues who are supporting us during the festival.
