We continue to utilise lateral spaces in and around the valley with our performances taking place at a dedicated space on 21 McLachlan St. Keep your eye out for theatre in shopfront windows courtesy of the Ann?s Street Party, and make sure your catch the visceral program of Matters of the Heart and Other Organs.

A quick guide to the performance program is published below with a link to each event. You can also check out the entire performance program by name, date and venue.

+ PERFORMANCES: SOOB Performance Space

Human Antenna
About a young woman who is exploring the relationship between her personal memory and the media saturated experiences of our digital present. The performer uses her body as a human antenna scrolling through images of static, digital imagery and her own childhood memories.

The Orange Peel

Finding Space
Finding Space is an innovative solo performance in which three characters become explorers in the most familiar and intimate spaces of their lives. From the inside of a bedroom wall to the local shopping centre they talk about the ways we claim, talk about, travel through the many spaces we live in.

Traipse
With a love for the circus and the world of style, Ikin and Flynn have come up with a 'Buster Keaton-esque' fable, with touches of burlesque, slapstick humour and very high fashion.

Blokus Australianus
This theatre piece revolves around the premise that men are socially conditioned to be lazy, sexist and stupid.  Blokus talks about love, life and mateship but his vocabulary is limited by the buttons on his shirt.

REMEMBER THAT DOORS OPEN TO THE PERFORMANCE SPACE, 21 MACLACHLAN ST AT 7PM EVERY NIGHT FOR HAPPY HOUR. CHEAP DRINKS!

Survival of The Prettiest
It is one of the most insidious yet alluring of all vices. It leaves countless young minds corrupted, and maxed-out credit cards in its wake. Are you aware of the dangers of prettiness?

Touchy Subjects
Eight performers from diverse backgrounds in contempoarary dance, multimedia, theatre, clown, yoga and live music, are coming together to make a movement based work exploring the delicious and powerful sense: touch.

Dialogue in the Ki of Ten
One dialogue, two bodies.  The voice is used to express the body.  The body in space is the theme.  The place is the theatre. The time is relative.  This piece is an active experiment extending principles from Quantum Theatre: Slapstick to Shakespeare.

I've Emerged! (Into a Desert)
4.00 pm - 5.00pm
Every young and emerging artist reaches the ripe ol' age of 26.  Is it possible to continue working in theatre without the friendly assistance of youth arts funding? Independent theatre makers join to discuss their pathways and the different options available to continue producing theatre beyond the age of 25.

Featuring: Kara Beavis (chair), Caroline Dunphy, Jo Loth, Andrew Corey & Scott Witt

Brisbane sucks? Or sucks everyone in?
5.00pm - 7.00pm

Featuring: Matt Roberts (chair), Sean Mee, Judith McLean & Marcus Graham.

The Sexy Detective
We are unleashing our enthusiasm and love of sketch comedy on Australia and we hope you take the plunge with us. This show is like nothing like you've ever seen before but hopefully be one like you'll see again. Bring out your Sexy Detective.

The Pythia Prophetess
The Pythia for almost a thousand years spoke the prophecies of the future, spewed forth revelations to philosophers like Socrates, Kinop priests.  Imagine if she spoke today… No longer the vessel of the gods, but as an absolute beginning of words and their end.

PERFORMANCES: The Visy theatre, Brisbane Powerhouse (119 Lamington St, New Farm). ENTRY $12/$10

Eye Wonder: a comic double bill
Two of Brisbane's quirkiest duos are teaming up to bring you an evening of hilarity and visual splendour!
Tutti Frutti: Roll out the pink carpet for more thrills, spills and frills than you can poke a stick at! Watch 2 sisters from the desert waterski, ice skate and save the world all in one night, on 1 stage and in only 3 acts.
2 in the bush is worth 1 in the hand: Jonathon Oxlade and Neridah Waters present 3 live music clips using puppetry, comedy and dance to the sounds of Kate Bush (imagine Wuthering Heights meets The Feebles).

House-Broken Hearts
House-broken Hearts introduces Connie and Fletcher, two characters fixated on myths of romantic love. This dark cabaret combines the songs of Rob Orbison and Nick Cave with Jazz standards to explore everything from loneliness to obsession, from romantic bliss to bananas.

Touchy Subjects
Eight performers from diverse backgrounds in contempoarary dance, multimedia, theatre, clown, yoga and live music, are coming together to make a movement based work exploring the delicious and powerful sense: touch.

Juanita's Adventure
Simultaneously she is sharp and cunning (in her world) yet disorientated and distant (in ours). In her younger years she was a bit on the wild side and wowzer... can she dance the heebeegeebee! She certainly hadall the boys a knockin' at her door. If you think your Gran is a crazy old hag(hmmm) just wait until you meet Juanita.

Paranoid Bob
Paranoid bob is trapped in a world of paranoia, e.g. protestants, time, dance, drink, cigarettes and sexual innuendo. Anything that could happen, will happen to the nth degree, especially if Bob has anything to do with it.

Blokus Australianus

vocabulary is limited by the buttons on his shirt.

Like-Raa!
The Like-Raa! crew came-to 6 months ago in a Melbourne alley, in spandex and hairspray. Despite repeated medical intervention, not one of them can remember anything after setting out on a particularly heavy cocaine binge in '89. A dance troupe formed as a way to communicate with a 'new' public "who are like, now tragically out of touch with shoulder pads and elastic belts."

Hot Chips
A three person, eight personality early-nineties cover extravaganza of 2Unlimited proportions. Inspired by an era of, environmental awareness, supermodels and Winona Ryder, "Hot Chips" takes you from "Justified and Ancient" times via "Winds of change" on a rad "joyride" to a place that you will "100% pure love"
